Visa Details

There are three possible visa types open to visitors to Taiwan. Your choice is limited by your nationality. Visa-exempt entry is the best option if you are eligible as there is no charge for the visa.

Please check with your local Taiwan representative office for the most up to date information.

Visa-exempt Entry

Eligible countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands , New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. and U.S.A.

Requirements:
(1) a passport valid for at least six months at the time of entry. (Unless otherwise stipulated by treaties or agreement)
(2) a confirmed return air (steamer) ticket or an air (steamer) ticket and a visa for the next destinatio
n, and a confirmed air (steamer) seat reservation for his (her) departure.
(3) no criminal record verified by the airport or seaport police.
Duration of stay:
14 days (no extension is permitted)
Disembarkation ports:
C.K.S. International Airport, Kaohsiung International Airport, Keelung Harbor, Hualien Harbor, Taichung Harbor and Kaohsiung Harbor.

Landing Visa

Eligible countries for application:
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei Darussalam, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea , Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. and U.S.A.

Requirements:
(1) a passport valid for at least six months at the time of entry.
(2) a confirmed return air ticket or an air ticket and a visa for the next destination, and a confirmed seat reservation for his (her) departure.
(3) fill out an application form with a photo.
(4) visa fee : NT$ 1,500 dollars
(5) no criminal record verified by the airport police.
Duration of stay:
30 days (no extension is permitted)
Disembarkation ports:
C.K.S. International Airport and Kaohsiung International Airport.

Visitor Visa

Eligible persons:
Foreign nationals, who hold ordinary passports or other travel documents, intend to stay in the Republic of China for less than six months for the purpose of transit, sightseeing, visiting relatives, paying a visit, attending a training course, receiving medical treatment or engaging in business or other activities.

Requirements:
(1) A passport valid for at least six months;
(2) One duly completed application form.
(3) Two identical recent photos (2" X 1.5" passport size);
(4) An incoming and outgoing airline or verifying purchase of steamship ticket or a letter such a ticket;
(5) Documents verifying the purpose of visit (written by the applicant for a personal trip or issued by a company for a business trip ); and
(6) Personal Bank Statement.

Visa Validity and Duration of Stay:
(1) Single entry: Valid for 3 months for a stay of 14, 30 or 60days.
(2) Multiple entries: Valid for 1 to 3 years for a stay of 30 or 60 days.

If you are not eligible for visa-exemption or a landing visa then you are required to obtain a visa in advance. Applications must be made to the Taiwan representative office in your country. Please contact your local office for up to date information.
